Relinquish
NOTE: There's a system in place that respawns certain blocks' enemies, but I didn't signpost it. I.e. you don't need to brute force your way through a door with a goblin.
--
Relinquish is a dungeon battler that puts you in control of a body snatcher. Switch bodies with your enemies before your host dies to keep fighting and make it out of the castle to save the prince. Hurry; he might not be alive when you get there if you take too long.
--
To do well, be mindful of the weaknesses and strengths of the various creatures, and make careful use of your soul crystals, which allows you to transfer your soul to another creature even when your host dies.
REMEMBER: Retreating is crucial when you are outmatched. Enemies keep their HP if you retreat, so use it often.
Controls:
Mouse to click on things.
Known bugs:
- Sometimes the game softlocks; I've yet to reproduce it consistently, so hard to say what causes it. If this happens, hopefully the retreat button is still there, which should fix the issue.
Credits:
I did all the design, coding, art, and SFX. (I was going to add music, but ran out of time.)

this is really cool! I love the concept, and the execution is great. I would love to see this expanded on further
Thanks! It's a bit buggy, and it feels like I need to redo the whole coding structure, but I'm glad you liked it.
And it does feel like there's more to explore here, so I might pick up this concept somewhere else. Thanks for playing!
