The Last Gambit - Prototype
The last city is under attack. While the Affliction carves away at our people's health, monsters clamour against the barrier, breaking it down slowly but surely. Our last gambit is to send our people out into the world, bringing back crystals for energy and knowledge for understanding.
This is a prototype, so I'm keen to hear your feedback. Let me know what you thought of the gameplay concepts in the comments below.
Distract, delay, and avoid
You units are no match for the monsters out in the wild. All you can do is distract them with some units while others harvest as much as they can. Lead enemies away from crucial points, run with your superior speed -- and sometimes, sacrifice one unit to ensure success of the greater whole.
Find the harmonic crystal
Search for the high-yield harmonic crystal by measuring the resonance strength of different tiles and deducing its location.
Race against the clock
The portal can only stay open for so long. Make sure you make it back before it closes -- venturing too far could spell the end for your unit.
Help researchers end the scourge
The only way to stop the scourge is by figuring out what's causing it. Gather knowledge and tissue samples to help the researchers end the scourge for good.
